These standards guide Nove.news in English and Bulgarian across world affairs, business, technology, travel, sport and health. They apply to news, briefs, explainers, analysis and translations. They describe our editorial commitments, not a guarantee that errors cannot occur.
Editorial responsibility
Nove.news is owned and published by QUINTA JSC, a Bulgarian company, UIC 206573375. Peter Rizov leads the publication and is responsible for its editorial standards. Our About page explains the publication’s background and its relationship with NoveSIM.
Accuracy and sources
We check names, dates, figures, quotations and factual claims against the available evidence before publication. We link the sources used, favour primary documents where available and identify who is making a claim. An official announcement establishes what an organisation says; it does not, by itself, independently prove every claim in it. We do not invent sources, interviews, quotations or eyewitness reporting.
News, analysis and uncertainty
We distinguish and label news, explainers, analysis and opinion so readers can recognise factual reporting and interpretation. Headlines must reflect the evidence in the article. We explain what happened, why it matters and where evidence is limited. Allegations, estimates, forecasts, proposals and planned events are identified as such. We distinguish the date of an event or source from our publication date and do not present old information as a new development.
Fairness and privacy
We attribute disputed claims and represent relevant positions fairly. Serious allegations require appropriate verification and an opportunity to respond where practicable; we make clear when a response is unavailable. We weigh public interest against unnecessary harm and intrusion, particularly for children and vulnerable people. Sensitive personal details should be included only when justified by the story.
AI assistance and translation
We use AI tools to assist with drafting and translation. Articles carry a note when that assistance is material. Generated text is not evidence: names, dates, figures and quotations must be checked against the linked sources. We do not claim human review, original reporting or reporting from the scene when it has not taken place. English and Bulgarian versions should preserve the same facts, attribution, uncertainty and meaning; when an error affects both, we correct both.
Images and visual evidence
We use images with a documented right of reuse and supply the required credit, source and licence information. Archive photographs, illustrative images and AI-generated visuals must be identified so readers do not mistake them for a photograph of the event described. Captions should explain relevant dates and context. Cropping or editing must not misrepresent what an image shows.
NoveSIM and commercial interests
QUINTA JSC also operates NoveSIM, a travel eSIM service. This is a commercial interest. Articles concerning travel connectivity, eSIM, mobile roaming or companies competing with NoveSIM must disclose that relationship in the article. Ownership or commercial interests must not substitute for evidence or determine a factual conclusion. Links to sources do not imply that those sources endorse Nove.news.
Advertising and sponsored material
If we publish paid or sponsored material, we will label it clearly and keep it separate from editorial work. Any affiliate or other commercial relationship relevant to an article must be disclosed where readers can see it. Commercial material must not be presented as independent reporting.
Corrections and updates
We make substantive factual corrections visible and explain what changed. We distinguish corrections from updates that add new information. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a correction note when they do not alter meaning. We review the linked language version when a correction may affect it. Our Corrections page explains how to submit a request.
Contact and accountability
Send questions, feedback or correction requests to contact@nove.news. Please include the article link, the disputed passage and supporting evidence where available. We assess requests against the evidence; a complaint does not automatically justify removing an accurate, relevant article. We update these standards as our editorial practices develop.
