Corrections

How to raise a concern and how we make corrections visible.

Accuracy is an ongoing responsibility at Nove.news. We review concerns against the evidence and make substantive factual corrections visible. This policy applies to our English and Bulgarian articles, headlines, images, captions, analysis and translations, in line with our Editorial standards.

How to request a correction

Email contact@nove.news with “Correction request” in the subject line. Include the article URL and title, the specific passage, claim, image or caption you believe is wrong, the correction you propose and supporting sources or documents. Explain any relevant dates and tell us how we can contact you for clarification. Send only personal information needed to assess the issue.

What we review

We consider factual errors, inaccurate quotations or attribution, misleading context, incorrect dates or figures, translation errors and misleading or incorrectly credited images. Disagreement with an interpretation or opinion is not by itself evidence of a factual error, but the facts and attribution supporting that interpretation remain open to review. You may also flag a missing AI disclosure, commercial-interest disclosure or sponsorship label.

How requests are assessed

We check the concern against the article and available sources, seek clarification where needed and consider relevant responses fairly. Peter Rizov is responsible for the publication’s editorial standards and oversight of substantive editorial decisions. The outcome depends on the evidence, not on whether a request comes from a reader, a subject of coverage or a commercial partner. We may correct the article, add context or explain why the evidence does not support the requested change. We do not promise a fixed response time; the complexity and urgency of the issue affect the review.

How we mark a correction

When a substantive factual error is established, we correct the affected content and add a dated note explaining what was wrong and what changed. We do not silently rewrite a material error. If the problem affects a headline, image, caption, source link or other presentation of the same claim on our site, we review and correct those elements too. A correction note should be clear without needlessly repeating harmful or sensitive information.

Updates, clarifications and minor edits

An update adds newly available information to a developing story; it does not replace a correction when the original text was wrong. We identify an update when it materially changes the story. A clarification explains wording, attribution or context that may mislead even where the underlying fact is not wrong. Spelling, punctuation and formatting fixes that do not alter meaning may be made without a correction note. Minor edits must not conceal a factual change.

English and Bulgarian versions

We review the linked language version whenever an error may affect it. If both versions contain the error, we correct both and add the appropriate note in each language. A translation error confined to one version is corrected there, with a visible note if substantive. Readers should not be left with conflicting facts across the two editions.

Images, AI and commercial disclosures

Corrections can apply to image captions, archive labels, credits, licence information and descriptions of illustrative or AI-generated visuals. Material AI assistance should be disclosed; a note must not imply a human review or original reporting that did not occur. Where coverage concerns travel connectivity, eSIM, roaming or competitors of NoveSIM, the article must disclose QUINTA JSC’s relationship with NoveSIM. Missing or misleading disclosures are reviewed and corrected, with a dated note where the change is substantive.

Removal and privacy concerns

A correction request does not automatically justify removing an accurate and relevant article. Where an issue involves privacy, safety, legal restrictions or rights to an image, we assess the specific circumstances and the public interest. Removal may be appropriate in exceptional cases; where practicable, we explain a substantive removal without disclosing protected information. For personal-data requests, see our Privacy policy and contact contact@nove.news.
