Deutsche Telekom raised its full-year outlook after third-quarter growth. The board also plans a dividend of €1.10 per share, 10% above the previous year. That is a proposed payout, not money already distributed to shareholders.

Quarterly revenue reached €31.1 billion, with organic growth of 5.5%. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation after leases — EBITDA AL — reached €12.2 billion, up 8% organically.

Reading the numbers

Organic growth removes currency and group-composition effects. It allows a different comparison from the change in reported euro amounts. Likewise, adjusted EBITDA AL is an operating measure, not the same thing as bottom-line profit.

Those distinctions matter when comparing telecom operators. Network investment, spectrum purchases and lease commitments can affect cash needs even when operating earnings are growing. A higher operating result does not, on its own, describe every financial obligation.

Forecasts remain forecasts

The new annual targets are around €47.6 billion in adjusted EBITDA AL and €20.1 billion in free cash flow AL. They replace forecasts of €47.5 billion and €20 billion respectively. Management links the revision to higher expectations for T-Mobile US.

For shareholders, the next distinction is between management’s plan and its eventual implementation. The dividend remains a proposal; the full-year figures remain targets. Currency movements, competition and regulation can still affect the final outcome.
