The date arrived. Luxair’s Abu Dhabi flight did not.

The planned 26 October launch was postponed to late 2027; the original timetable is no longer a reliable booking guide.

Luxair’s proposed Luxembourg–Abu Dhabi service is not launching on its originally advertised date of 26 October. The airline postponed the route until the end of 2027 because of continuing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

The January announcement had promised a weekly winter connection, with departures from Luxembourg on Mondays and returns on Tuesdays. That earlier schedule still appears online, but it was superseded by the airline’s announcement on 31 August.

The same decision pushed back the planned resumption of Luxair’s seasonal Dubai flights to 6 February 2027. These are separate routes with different revised dates. Neither should be treated as operating simply because an old timetable or a third-party schedule still lists it.

Affected customers were to be contacted about their options. Travellers should check the status of their own booking directly with the airline or their booking provider before arranging hotels, transfers or connecting flights around a withdrawn service.

The case illustrates a practical risk of winter travel planning: a route announcement is not evidence that an inaugural flight took place. For this connection, the later cancellation and postponement information takes precedence over the original launch publicity.
