Vezenkov shines. Olympiacos loses.

A double-double from the Bulgarian forward was not enough as Fenerbahce won 64–61. A strong opening gave way to a late reversal.

The result

Olympiacos lost 61–64 at home to Fenerbahce in the seventh round of the EuroLeague regular season on 23 October. Aleksandar Vezenkov recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds, Bulgarian National Radio reported on Saturday morning. The individual contribution produced a double-double but did not change the final outcome for the Greek side. [1]

The game changed late

BNR describes an early 17–0 Olympiacos run before Fenerbahce gradually reduced the deficit and finished with an 8–0 burst. The sequence helps explain how an apparently strong start can end in defeat: the scoreboard rewards the full game, not the largest lead. The final three-point margin makes the closing possessions central to the account. [1]

Individual form and team outcome

A double-double measures production in two statistical categories; it is not a summary of every defensive decision, possession or team performance. Vezenkov’s numbers and the defeat can both be significant without cancelling each other out. For Olympiacos, the immediate task is to understand the loss of control in the closing stage rather than treating one player’s productive evening as a substitute for the result.
