Typhoon alert. Check your ticket before you fly.

Delta offers conditional changes for Taipei and Shanghai travel on 22–24 October. A waiver does not mean every flight is cancelled.

Who the notice covers

Delta's Champi advisory covers travel to, from or through Taipei and Shanghai on 22–24 October for tickets issued by 21 October. Qualifying rebooking and departure must be completed by 27 October. Same-cabin and availability conditions apply. The notice does not establish that every service is cancelled or that every traveller qualifies. [1]

Context: flexibility is not a flight status

A waiver changes the options attached to an eligible booking. A flight-status notice says what is happening to a particular departure. Both can matter, but one cannot substitute for the other. Travellers should therefore check the actual reservation and the operating carrier's current information before changing the rest of their itinerary.

Look at the whole journey

A revised long-haul flight may affect a separately booked connection, hotel arrival or ground transfer. The practical comparison is the complete itinerary and its conditions, rather than a headline promise of a free change. Keep confirmation of any accepted alteration and check that the replacement journey is reflected in the booking.

What to check next

The carrier's live advisory remains the reference for eligibility and deadlines. Other airlines may have different policies, and this notice should not be generalised to them. The aircraft photograph is an archive image taken in Atlanta in 2025; it does not depict the storm or a flight affected by it.
