Nanbeige has released Nanbeige4.3-33B with open model weights under the Apache 2.0 licence. It targets coding and multi-step work with tools, extending the push from conversational AI towards systems that execute tasks.
The model has roughly 33 billion parameters and supports a context of up to 524,288 tokens. Context describes how much information can be supplied within a task; a large window alone does not guarantee that every detail will be used correctly.
The developer also positions it as a teacher for future smaller models. That approach uses a more capable system to help train compact versions intended to require fewer resources to run.
The published benchmark comparisons come from the Nanbeige team. They describe the developer’s reported performance, rather than an independent assessment or a substitute for testing on an organisation’s own work.
Open weights offer more control over deployment, alongside responsibility for infrastructure, data and tool permissions. Those choices become consequential when a system can alter files or perform actions. This report covers a model released in recent days, rather than a separate launch announcement on 26 October.
