Doncic does it again. Another 42 points.

Luka Doncic added 13 assists as the Lakers beat Miami 138–117, following his 45-point performance against Toronto.

Luka Doncic scored 42 points and supplied 13 assists as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat 138–117 on Monday night. He also collected seven rebounds, helping Los Angeles turn another high-scoring individual performance into a comfortable team win.

The game followed his 45 points and 15 rebounds against Toronto the previous night. That made 87 points across two consecutive victories, with little time between them. The sequence underlines the intensity of his start to the season rather than a single isolated scoring burst.

Against Miami, Doncic made 14 of 24 field-goal attempts, including six three-pointers, and eight of 10 free throws. His 13 assists are an important part of the same performance: the Lakers’ offence benefited both from his own scoring and from opportunities he created for teammates.

The early-season run has put him among the league’s most prominent scorers, but it remains a small part of a long regular season. Sustaining production through changing opponents, schedules and availability will matter more than projecting a full-season outcome from a handful of games. Monday’s result is a completed win, not a guarantee about the playoff race.

The NBA has no games scheduled on Tuesday, 3 November, its Election Day pause, before play resumes on Wednesday. For the Lakers, the break follows two wins on successive nights. Doncic enters it with another substantial contribution to both the scoring column and the organisation of the attack.
