Qatar Airways inaugurated its new service connecting Doha, Bogotá and Caracas on 4 November. The twice-weekly route expands the airline's South American network using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft.

The published routing runs from Doha to Bogotá, continues to Caracas and then returns to Doha. That sequence matters for passengers: the outward journey from Doha to Caracas includes the Bogotá sector, rather than being a separate nonstop service in that direction.

Two new destinations in the Americas

Bogotá and Caracas become the carrier's 16th and 17th destinations in the Americas. Qatar Airways describes itself as the first Gulf airline to serve Venezuela, adding a new link between South America and its Doha hub.

The schedule operates on Wednesdays and Sundays. With only two departures a week, the choice of travel dates and the duration of a stay may matter as much as the existence of the route itself.

Connections need a close look

The airline is positioning the service for onward journeys through Hamad International Airport to markets across Asia, Australia and the Middle East. It is part of a winter network of more than 170 destinations.

For travellers comparing itineraries, the practical details remain the routing, total journey time, connection and ticket conditions. The launch adds an option; it does not establish that every connection is available on every date or that the fare will be the lowest. The new service began on 4 November, rather than being a future route awaiting its first flight.
