The IMF forecasts global growth of 3.1% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027 in its October World Economic Outlook. It projects headline inflation at 4.7% this year, easing to 4.1% next year.

The Fund identifies conflict, trade tensions and changing expectations about AI as risks. Energy importers outside technology supply chains face particular pressure.

These are forecasts, based on information available through 1 October, rather than final economic results.
