Seattle gets Osaka. The flight starts next spring.

Alaska and Hawaiian announced Seattle–Osaka nonstop service from 14 May 2027, four times weekly, using a Hawaiian-branded A330-200. The same announcement schedules Seattle–Papeete from 11 June, three times weekly. These are future services, with schedules subject to change and government approval.

A new route on the map

Alaska and Hawaiian announced Seattle–Osaka nonstop service from 14 May 2027, four times weekly, using a Hawaiian-branded A330-200. The operating detail matters

The Osaka service uses Kansai International Airport. The announcement says Hawaiian’s Honolulu–Osaka service will continue. For travellers comparing options, the new Seattle departure adds a different itinerary; it does not mean every journey to Kansai becomes nonstop or that existing Honolulu flights disappear. [1]

Context: frequency shapes the whole trip

A route operated on selected days can be convenient in one direction and awkward in the other. Compare the travel dates, onward transport and the return journey together. A new line on a network map is only the beginning of that calculation, especially when the trip includes separately booked services.

Before treating an announcement as an itinerary

Check the operating carrier, both airports, local arrival dates and the timetable for the actual booking. A launch announcement is not a live inventory check or proof that every advertised fare remains available. Nove.news has not tested current booking availability.
