Katerina Siniakova won the Osaka title with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 victory over American Ashlyn Krueger. The final on 25 October delivered the Czech’s sixth WTA singles trophy and her first since Nanchang in 2023.

The contest stayed close only briefly. Leading 2–1 in the opening set, Siniakova began a run of ten consecutive games and never allowed Krueger back into the match. The tournament’s official match record lists a playing time of 64 minutes.

Krueger arrived as a former Osaka champion, having won the title in 2023. This time she could not halt Siniakova’s momentum. The Czech finished the first set and then took every game of the second.

The result also closes a personal chapter at the event. Ten years earlier, Siniakova lost the Osaka final to Christina McHale. She now returns as champion and becomes the first Czech to win the tournament.

For a player whose greatest achievements have come in doubles, the singles trophy is a significant addition. It ends a three-year wait for another individual title, with a scoreline that left little room for a comeback.

Osaka is a WTA 250 event played on hard courts. Its final belonged to Siniakova from the early stages: once she moved ahead in the opening set, Krueger did not win another game.
